The quake hit Friday morning at 6:50 am. The epicenter was in Taklimakan desert at a depth of 30 miles into the Earth's crust. Chinese Earthquake center officials said they were expecting damage reports from five prefectures where the quake was felt. So far, no casualties have been reported.
