Major earthquakes in China over past 5 years
A 6.6 magnitude earthquake rocked northwestern Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region - China's Uighurs at 30-6 5g07 morning, local time, according to China Daily. CCTV television station led to a statement of the Centre National Earthquake Network said there were at least 17 people were injured by the earthquake, mainly due to the collapse. Agency U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reported the quake occurred at a depth of 9.8 km and the epicenter lies the city of Tu Son Single 99 km to the south, in a region of rugged mountains and remote . But the aftershocks can be felt strongly in the capital of Xinjiang, Urumqi, to which nearly 300 km, as well as in major cities and Khue Single Son Son Don, according to CCTV. The earthquake was followed by eight aftershocks lasted for 90 minutes, with the largest aftershock measured at 3.9 degree.
