The BC Lions hoist the Grey Cup after defeating the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 34-23

The CFL's regular season begins tonight on two fronts. In Hamilton the Tiger Cats host the Saskatchewan Roughriders. This looks to be two teams heading in opposite directions. Hamilton should be rejuvenated with the trade that brought them Henry Burris from Calgary. The Riders, after two straight Grey Cup appearances (both losses to Montreal), dropped off last season and don't appear to be a major threat in 2012. The Cats are 7 point favorites tonight. There's a Grey Cup rematch in Vancouver tonight with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers visiting the BC Lions. The Bombers have lost Doug Brown (retired), Odell Willis the Mayor of Swaggerville (trade) and Chris Garrett (torn Achilles) while the Lions look as strong as ever. BC opened as 7 1/2 point favorites over Winnipeg.

On Saturday the Toronto Argonauts visit Edmonton as the two teams showcase their new quarterbacks. Ricky Ray joins the Argos from Edmonton while Kerry Joseph and Steven Jyles take over the reins in Edmonton which should make this game a bit more intriguing than normal. Vegas has this game at PICK.

Week one wraps up on Canada Day July 1 with the Montreal Alouettes visiting the Calgary Stampeders. After dominating the Eastern Conference for much of the past decade the Als were dethroned last year by Winnipeg. There might be a bit more of a dropoff this season but they do still have the number one all-time passing leader in Anthony Calvillo which makes them dangerous. As far as Calgary goes this will be Drew Tate's first season as the full time starter. The Stamps opened as 2 point faves in this one. Enjoy!

Las Vegas favors the BC Lions to repeat as Grey Cup champs. Here are the odds to win the 2012 Grey Cup. BC +300, Hamilton +375, Winnipeg +550, Calgary +550, Toronto +550, Montreal +600, Edmonton +1100 and Saskatchewan +1200.
