"I Love Lucy" supporting actress Doris Singleton passed away on Tuesday, June 26, in her Los Angeles home. She was 92 years of age.
Becoming a close friends with the late, great Lucille Ball the two women worked side by side a number of times throughout the years including on "The Lucy Show," and on the popular "Bob Hope Christmas Special."
Singleton made ten appearances on I Love Lucy as Lucy Ricardo's near-sighted nemesis Carolyn Appleby in the 1950s.
She died the same day as writer-director Lucie Arnaz -- the daughter of late "I Love Lucy" stars Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz -- noted on her Facebook page."A day of saying hasta luego to two great ladies, Nora Ephron and Doris Singleton. May they both fly swiftly heavenward and enjoy a blissful rest for jobs well done down here. They were loved and appreciated and will be missed.",
Singleton appeared on dozens of TV shows in the 1950s, 60s and 70s, including "Perry Mason," ''My Three Sons," ''All in the Family" and "Hogan's Heroes"Gomer Pyle,' and long time running daytime soap "Days of Our Lives
Singleton's husband of 61 years -- comedy writer, director and producer Charles Isaacs -- died in 2002.
