Uttrakhand Janmanch has warned center government not to interfere in ongoing hydro projects in the state. Janmanch condemned P.M.’s decision to resume talks with anti hydro project activists including Shankaracharya Swarupanand Sarswati and his aides. Janmanch alleges P.M. Manmohan Singh for patronizing anti hydro project lobby led by Magsaysay award winner Rajendra Singh. Janmanch Secretary General Rajen Todariya said that Manmohan Singh is playing the card of soft Hindutwa as Narsingh Rao played in the demolition of Babri Maszid. Janmanch warns Congress that her misadventure may topple down Congress government in Uttrakhand.

Uttrakhand Janmanch today held a press conference here in Dehradun. Addressing the press conference the Secretary General Rajen Todariya sharply criticized the decision of P.M.O. for resuming talks with anti project lobby. Todaiya said that it is unfortunate that the the person,who is holding the post of Prime Minister, is patronizing those agitations which are anti people and anti development. Janmanch leader said that it is well known fact that Shankracharya swami Swarupanand is old Congress backed saint and Magsaysay award winner Rajendra Singh is also known as government backed environmentalist. He was forced to leave the India against corruption campaign by team Anna because he was soft to Congress. Rajen Todariya said that Central government is playing with flames by sponsoring a Hindu fundamentalist movement.

Janmanch also criticized to include Rajendra Singh and G.D. Agarwal in inter ministerial group set up by Central Government. Janmanch said that this shows that Center is biased and unfair to Uttrakhand. Janmanch also made it clear that Center’s inter ministerial committee would not be allowed to enter in the Uttrakhand hills. Janmanch ‘s Secretary General said that the central Government’s committee will be welcome by black flags and people’s curfew everywhere in Uttrakhand. He said that public sentiments are against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and it may turn at any time into an anti Congress agitation. If it were happen the Congress led state government would become the first causality of the agitation, Todariya added. He said that the power situation in Uttrakhand is critical and the economy of Uttrakhand under severe strees. State has no option except to go for power. Janmanch alleges that Central Government is committing suicide due to American pressure for nuclear power. It is disastrous, he said
