Heavy rains, landslides kill 83 in southwestern Bangladesh
According to AP, in Bandarban district, about 248km from the capital Dhaka, the bodies of adults and 32 children were found. In Cox's Bazar district nearby, 34 others also died, most from landslides. In Chittagong district, the bodies of 10 victims were found beneath the landslide houses were buried. At least 76 people in southeastern Bangladesh were killed in flash floods and landslides triggered by heavy rains for three days. The flood also cut off many important transport routes. On 27/6 army has been mobilized to help search and rescue people in the affected area. He warned the death toll could still increase because many people are still missing.
