Nora Ephron, Wry Writer of 'When Harry Met Sally,' Dies at 71

Nora Ephron, Hollywood screenwriter and director who wrote such films as When Harry Met Sally and Sleepless in Seattle, has died at the age of 71. Her demised on Tuesday night was confirmed by her publisher Alfred P. Knopf in a statement.

Ephron died in Manhattan of complications relating to acute myeloid leukaemia, her son told the New York Times. The writer was raised in California, and started her career reporting for the New York Post. She was born on May 19, 1941 in New York.
