Skooter reporting 06/26/12
To raise funds for a veteran’s food pantry in northwest Ohio, a couple of grandmothers in their 80s have parachuted from a plane. Marjorie Bryan, 83, and Marianna Sherman, 82 jumped off from a plane and parachuted Saturday at the Allen County Airport in Lima. The retired Sgt. 1st Class Michael Elliott joined the two women in their tandem jumps, who for you info, has done tandem jumps with former President George H.W. Bush.
The aim of the tandem jumps by the two grandmothers was to raise money for the local chapter of Blue Star Mothers of America and its veterans' food pantry. Blue Star members are mothers whose kids have served in the military.
Grandmothers Bryan and Sherman are from Lima and Kenton respectively. Bryan loves parachuting so much she wants to go along with Bush if he jumps for his 90th birthday. She would be 85.
