A 68-year old bus driver from Rochester, New York has asked for calm and peace regarding a video that went viral this week of her being teased and tormented by the students she drove to school.
Karen Klein is berated and brought to tears in the 10-minute video — filmed by one of the bullies and posted to YouTube — when the little hellions spout things at her such as, “Do you have Herpes?”, “You’re a f*cking slut, you fat ass” and worst of all, “You’re so ugly, your kids should kill themselves.”
In an interview with WROC-TV, Karen sadly admits how close to home that last one hit. “I don’t think they knew my son had”; referring to the tragedy that took her son away 10 years ago.
However, through the shared anger of many who have viewed the video, there has been some good: an anonymous sympathizer set up a fund to give the widow a much-needed vacation. Originally set to reach $5,000 in 30 days, it has far surpassed that, going over $427 thousand in less than a week, funded by over 20,000 people!
The most beautiful thing of all is that Ms. Klein has asked that no harm come to the students, whether physically or legally. Although pleased and humbled with the outpouring of support, all she has asked is that the parents of the boys’ view the video and teach them to be “a bit more respectful”.
Karen also appeared on Anderson Cooper‘s “Ac360″ last night where some of the students called in with apologies. However, the students involved haven’t had the best of luck, receiving death threats and even false hostage situations.
In the words of the now late, “Can’t we all just get along?”
Check out the video below… but know it is extremely harsh and somewhat NSFW. Our hearts are with you, Miss Klein.
