Dolce & Gabbana debuted their Menswear Spring/Summer 2013 collection in a fashion show during Milan Fashion Week on June 23, 2012 in Milan, Italy, using a Sicilian theme for the entire presentation.
Dolce & Gabbana’s Menswear Spring/Summer 2013 collection is primarily all about stripes in all sorts of combinations and color schemes including nautical blue and white, as in the way of sporty trousers (some at Capri length or rolled up!) and shorts (the checkered short shorts weren’t bad either!), earthy coral and brown stripes and trendy Parisian red, navy and baby blue stripes, as featured in a shirt jacket.
There are also some very colorful jackets with prints of knights and solar designs and celestial patterns, and separates with very Hawaiian style tropical prints featuring palm trees, grass skirts and coconuts! Something for everyone…
Buff Sicilian male models, some quite young, strutted the runway to the accompaniment of a Sicilian folk band that played a tarantella. The models’ Dolce & Gabbana outfits were accessorized with traditional Sicilian leather oxfords and fisherman’s sandals and chunky overnight bags.
Attending the fashion show were David Gandy, Francesco Scianna and Bianca Brandolini D'Adda.
How refreshing that Dolce & Gabbana used Sicilian men for this show instead of often imported Nordic types!
Enjoy the slide show and thanks for visiting Milan along with me…
