WASTE CONNECTION AND THE REPUBLIC SERVICES / ALLIED WASTE IN THE MEMPHIS,TN. Acts as if just because you never driven a waste collection truck, an applicant can never learn how to learn how to operate one. I have applied and applied for a driver position with them several times and was never given an opportunity and I have CDL License to drive any commerical vehicle. Espeically when Dr. Martin Luther King came to Memphis, Tn to help fight for fair treatment with the WASTE LABOR HELPER / WORKERS. But during this tough econmoic times and jobs down sizing, you can not be conisdered to drive a WASTE TRUCK IF YOU NEVER DRIVEN ONE BEFORE. And trust me everyone who is now employed at WASTE CONNECTION AND THE REPUBLIC ALLIED WASTE did not come from another WASTE RECYCLING COMPANY BEFORE APPLYING FOR A JOB AT ONE THESE COMPANIES. It ain't like waste recycling companies are very popular being built up like factories and resturants. Therefore they either knew someone really close to management of hiring or just got very lucky. Because I am finding it with the 3-8 times of placing an application, the persons' who is screening the applications is not thinking with no compassion nor with any reality thinking to placing themselves in the applicant shoes. Just because a person has never driven a WASTE TRUCK does not mean a person can not be trainned and shown how to operate one, especially when a applicant has CDL License to operate any commerical vehicle. I tell you people in the hiring authority is really not compassion, these people at WASTE CONNECTION AND THE REPUBLIC SERVICES / ALLIED WASTE HAS FORGOTTEN SOMEONE GAVE THEM AN OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN WHAT THEY NEED TO LEARN TO HELPING THEM GET WHERE THEY ARE TODAY, but so quickly to refusing job offers to one's who may have the great capablities to learning and may be a very good worker. But, just because what is not on paper or not because what an applicant never drove a waste truck be the main reason to denying a job offer when a person posses CDL A LICENSE.
