goes into some detail about the distortions of the Martin Bashir interview, where Bashir attempted to make the incomparable Mr. Jackson appear to be less of a man than what he was in this life.
Of note is that upon the occasion of Michael's death, Bashir apologized to the Jackson family for the intentional edits that profiled their son, brother, uncle, and father as a pedophile. His only explanation: "I'm a journalist. I work for ratings."
It was not the first time Bashir had distorted an interview. He did the same thing when he exposed and twisted and misconstrued information aboutwhile she was in the midst of divorcing Prince Charles.
The question of just how Bashir got these exclusive interviews remains unanswered, because he certainly was not a very good factual or credible journalist. Bashir has since faded away into MSNBCLand with a small "point of view" television show, but has not gotten an exclusive interview with anyone else.
But Michael showed his own ability not to put himself in a bad position by any means necessary by having his own cameras recording the Bashir cameras. Smart move, Michael.
