After a hiatusannounced his return to the big screen yesterday 21 June, 2012. The former 'Two and a Half Men' star has been cast as President of America in ’s 'Machete Kills.'
This movie is actually a sequel to the 2010’s Machete and a proposed trilogy. While Sheen does not have a substantial role in 'Machete Kills,' both the actor and director made the announcement of the casting on Twitter on their respective pages.
Rodriguez tweeted yesterday afternoon “I just cast Charlie Sheen in #machetekills as the President of the United States! Who better? More soon.” He even posted a photo of himself and Sheen.
Meanwhile, Sheen re-posted Rodriguez’s Twitter message to his 7.5 million followers in a presidential tone: “My fellow Americans.” Fellow Hollywood rebel too has been cast in Machete Kills. While Sofia Vergara, plays what Collider describes as, “the leather-clad Madame Desdemona, whose Mexican harlots have information that Machete needs.”
The lead character of Machete is again enacted by Danny Trejo in the sequel. He is drafted by the American government to track down an arms dealer and cartel leader through Mexico, before he launches a lethal weapon from space.
In recent years, the 46-year-old star has been preoccupied with work on television such as 'Spin City,' 'Two and a Half Men' and the upcoming ‘Anger Management.’ He has made a series of cameos in movies like ‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.’
Sheen has even put an appearance as Men‘s Charlie Harper in ‘Due Date.’ His latest ‘Anger Management’ series premieres on FX on June 28. ‘Machete Kills’ is scheduled for a 2013 release.
