Bus Monitor Karen Klein bullied by vile school children

Karen Klein, a 68 year old school bus monitor is under media attention after narrating her story about the verbal abuse she had to face from Greece middle school students during her job as the bus monitor. The video in which Karen Klein is talking about her abuse got viral on YouTube because of which more than $350,000 has been raised to fund her vacation. This matter was one of the hottest searches on Google Trends signifying that a lot of people were following the case.

Karen Klein is a bus monitor in Greece, N.Y. she was harassed by middle school students and they said rude and impolite things about her weight and age. They even fantasized about stabbing and torturing her. All this was caught on camera fortunately and now Karen Klein is being given justice in the form of funding for a vacation.

Indiegogo.com has already raised $410,000 for Klein even though their original goal was to make $5000. All this money will help her overcome the trauma and hurt caused by repetitive bullying.

The Greece School District is investigating the incident and all those social workers who have closely followed this case have demanded for justice. In fact money will not erase the torture she had to go through and the suffering of being ridiculed by middle school children. The children must be held accountable here and if not them, the school or their parents must apologize to Karen Klein for all the trouble their children caused.

According to Washington Post; Karen Klein‘s case has helped highlight an important observation that, “people like to join with others, and things which they might not otherwise do alone, for good or for bad, suddenly make great sense when done in community” Karen Klein’s video got viral and people circulated it, shared it, asked their friends and acquaintances to view it. Even though that is benefitting Karen Klein, her embarrassing story was shared by hundreds and thousands of people out there. On the contrary, the fact that these hundreds and thousands of people shared her misery provoked people to join the donor’s bandwagon.

There is plenty of debate about whether these children should be punished or not. One school of thought strongly proposes that these kids should be punished so this larger moral educational issue isn’t ignored in the society in future.

Let’s hope Karen Klein gets over the traumatic bullying and this paid vacation helps her.

I saw this on television and was horrified by the kids behavior. Some of this generation has lost all respect for their elders...it's like they're missing that sensitivity 'chip.'

The method of beating a bully according to the movie The Rise Of Miss Power is not to allow the harsh words bullies say about you get under your skin. Easier said than done. I guess those kids were never taught to respect your elders.
