LeBron James has been a clutch player in this NBA Finals series which was a big contrast he displayed from last year's finals aganist the Mavericks. But observers believe that LeBron James injury in Game 4 might be the reason he isn't clutch tonight especially in the 4th quarter.
In Thunder vs Heat Game 4 last Tuesday, Lebron James cramped leg doesn't disrupt him from scoring a crucial 3-pointer with a minute left to secure the Heat's win. “I just wanted to make a play with the limited mobility I had at the time,” James said on his crucial 3-pointer. He had 26 points and 12 assists to to held off 104-98 win over the Thunder and put the Heat on the brink of his first NBA title of his career.
James leg cramps was treated on the sideline and James Jones took James’ place briefly in the lineup. “I knew I wasn’t injured,” James said. “Your muscles just basically lock up on you. I wanted to walk to the bench but my muscles wouldn’t allow me to.”
Lebron James injury gave the Thunder a chance to steal the game in Miami and send the series back to Oklahoma City but Mario Chalmers took over on James absence. Chalmers scored career high 25 points basically told Dwayne Wade to find him when LeBron went down. Lebron James meets the press on Wednesday said that he's recieving treatment and feeling a lot better after game injury. “I feel a lot better than I did last night. That’s clear. I’m still a little sore because of the muscles just kind of being at an intense level, very tight. I’m still sore. I was able to get some treatment [Tuesday] night. I was able to get some treatment this morning.”
Brian Windhorst of ESPN tweeted on Lebron James injury status @WindhorstESPN, "LeBron went thru Heat practice. Said he's still a little sore but feels better than last night. "I'm going to use today to improve my legs."
On Thunder vs Heat Game 5 tonight on American Airlines Arena, Lebron James might still carry the pain in his leg cramp on court, it would be bittersweet if King James will get his NBA ring tonight and Miami Heat be crowned again as NBA Champions.
