Press Council Pakistan arranges one day workshop for journalists

Peshawar, Chief justice of the Peshawar high court has welcomed the decision of media about self accountability and said that the provincial judicial academy will train the Court Reporter in the last week of July. He was addressing as chief guest of the one day seminar on media ethics and court reporting , that arranged by press council Pakistan with the collaboration of the Peshawar high court bar on Thursday.

Courts Reporter of the Peshawar high court, Lawyers, Judges attend the seminar, and Anchor & Journalist Hamid Mir and Talat Hussain also participate in the seminar.

Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Dost Mohammad said that Judiciary gives justice to everyone and it’s our constitutional duty to provide justice to the citizen of Pakistan.

Justice Dost Mohammad said that no state organ could stop us from our duty; Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court urged that in the current scenario there is an independent supervisory board whose check the Owner and Anchor of media.

He urged to the journalist that they kick out those people whose become black sheep and because of their work journalist lose their creditability. Chief Justice Peshawar High Court said that it’s the duty of journalists to give credible news to the people.

Justice Dost Mohammad further added in his speech that Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa province is affected by war on terror and Reporting in the conflict area is not easy, the journalist community gives sacrifice during duty. So it’s the duty of media owner to provide good environment to journalist and they ensure the health insurance to journalist community.

Before the speech of Chief Justice Anchor & Journalist Hamid Mir and Talat Hussain also address to the seminar , they said that every Anchor is not journalist they admit that some black sheep in the field of journalism. They urged that journalist, civil society and lawyer unite for the judiciary. They blamed the media owner for the current situation and said because of their personal issues journalist community facing problem.

President of the Khyber union of journalist Arshad Aziz Malik and president of the Peshawar press club Saif Ul Islam Saifi, Lawyer Ather Minal Ullah also address to the seminar. Chief justice Peshawar High court distributes the certificate in journalist.
