Actress Halle Berry is planning to exchange marriage vows with her French fiancée, Olivier Martinez, later this year in Cape Town, South Africa.
The couple got engaged in January this year and can’t wait to tie the knot, according to Star Magazine’s July edition. After weeks of rumors that Berry was planning a wedding in California and then later in France, an insider has confirmed that “the wedding is going to be in Cape Town, because that is where they met and fell in love”, referring to the location of the movie, "Dark Tide", in which they starred together.
“They want to have the ceremony and reception on a huge yacht in False Bay. They’re finalising a lot of the details now, like who’s going to design the dress,” the insider told the magazine, according to a report by Cover Media.
The actress was spotted in Paris this March, looking for a school for her 4-year-old daughter, Nahla, from her ex-boyfriend, Gabriel Aubry. While the news might sound sweet enough, one cannot help but recall her 2004 interview with Oprah Winfrey in which the twice-divorced star vowed never to marry again after her previous disastrous relationships. Well, something definitely changed for the Cat Woman with Martinez and she couldn’t refuse him.
The 45-year-old actress is currently facing a dispute over the legal custody of Nahla because Berry wants to take her daughter and move to France as early as possible. Recently, she has also been ordered by the court to pay $20,000 a month in child support to Gabriel Aubry, according to a report by TMZ.
The insider said now that Berry and Martinez are together, “it’s obvious to everyone that they have finally found the right one this time,” and “it’s especially exciting for Olivier, who has never been married before.”
The couple is hoping to give Nahla a sibling. “Olivier doesn’t have any children, and he desperately hopes it’s not too late for them to have a baby together. Halle wants it to happen too!” the insider tells. However, given the fact that Berry is diabetic and is now 45, this might be a problem.
“If they can’t conceive they will definitely consider adoption”, a source told Radar Online. Martinez has made a connection and a commitment to Berry and her daughter, which the couple definitely wishes to take forward.
