Why is it VITAL that Greece remains in the European Union? Like if dealing with toddlers, can somebody explain why? And what is it that Greece holds that if left unsupervised may represent a threat to Europe?
Currently Greece behaves like a disobedient child and plays around with its ‘if you do not give me what I want I will leave you’ attitude. Still, the European strong economies —i.e Germany and France— consider that to kick the Greeks out of the union, and free to take care of their own problems, is a bad idea. But why? Is it the case the Greece has forgotten the meaning of demokratia and if left alone it may turn into a rogue regimen, axis of evil, or worse, it will become a super power?
Interpreting the platonic euphoria shown by Europa’s political elite and media after the Greeks result to stay in the union is difficult. And it seems that Europeans prefer to keep the union rather than to fix the union.
And hearing to Japanese media you may also think that the future of Japan depended on the result of Greek elections. Even the Japanese political and economic class express their worry if Greece is out of the euro zone and openly support giving it whatever it asks for.
The outcome of the recent Greek election may have averted havoc, but the problem remains and the stubbornness of the European political class of ignoring Greece’s faults, pardon its fouls, and repleting its vaults is difficult to grasp.
Europeans also seem to forget that Greek politicians are masters of rhetoric, so much that everything they say seems to aim at twisting the hard parts of any speech and, most of all, avoid taking responsibility. Yes, Greeks are good lads, but since the times ofthey enjoy making things difficult for outsiders to understand.
With this in mind Europeans should consider that spoiling Greece, or any other country which may want to break away, is threatening more the euro zone economy; the integrity of the common currency, and diminishing European influence in world affairs.
Any consideration that Europeans leaders are in charge of the Greece affair is delusional. And regardless of the pressure, Greece will still indulge its uncompromising attitude.
