Japan Restarts Two Nuclear Reactors

Nuclear Terror Japan: Nuclear Disasters and Climate Change

-COL DR. ABDUL RUFF

Nuclear waste and impact of nuclear disasters increase the chances of rapid climate change, and along with the NATO terror wars the terrorized and besieged humanity stays in danger line, facing detestations of the big colonialist powers for which alien people are no different from locals. All they want is nation’s resources and profits.

Japanese prime minister Naota Kan had gone crazy on nuclear plants and he is now gone. Incumbent Japanese PM Yoshihiko Noda has already gone crazy if not insane. Noda overrode safety concerns and popular opposition to order the reactivation of two reactors at the Oi nuclear plant last week. Noda took the devastating decision to reactivate reactors 3 and 4 at the Oi plant under pressure from big business, including the powerful corporate energy lobby. The plant’s operator, Kansai Electric Power, had warned that without the plant, demand for electricity would exceed supply by about 15 percent during the summer. Their apparent claim is nuclear terror plants alone can generate electricity and without which every Japanese would die.

Last Friday, an anti-nuclear group headed by Nobel laureate Kenzaburo Oe presented Noda with a petition with 7.5 million signatures calling for the abolition of nuclear power. 10,000 people took part in a demonstration in Tokyo on Saturday to protest against Noda’s announcement. The following day, more than 2,000 joined a Fukui city protest, in the same prefecture as the Oi nuclear plant. Local mayors across Japan have signed a letter to the prime minister protesting against the decision. According to a latest poll earlier this month, 71 percent of respondents cautioned against an early start of the Oi reactors, with only 25 percent in support.

The operational nuke reactors are scientifically dangerous, threatening a full-scale meltdown and causing disastrous impact on people. .The reactors were shut down in the aftermath of the catastrophe at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant following the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami. As of early May, all Japan’s 50 nuclear reactors had been shut down. 14 reactors are stretched out along 50 kilometers of coastline Oi known as Japan’s “nuclear alley”. These reactors have been unable to reopen due to widespread public distrust of the power companies and the government.

The regime wants to save it terror face and promote capitalists by nuclear terror operations, killing innocent people. In an effort to somehow reassure the public, the government has just insisted that all nuclear reactors undergo “stress tests”, knowing fully well that impending dangers are real.

Japanese regime is only fooling the people. The bogus “stress tests” and "safety measures" are mere phrases aimed more at stemming intense public opposition than establishing comprehensive procedures to cover all contingencies at Japan’s nuclear plants. The haste with which Noda ordered the Oi plant back on terror line indicates that profit, not safety, will continue to dominate the functioning of the nuclear regulatory apparatus.

The Fukushima disaster, second only to the world’s worst—the 1986 explosion at Chernobyl—resulted in the partial meltdown of three of the plant’s six reactors. More than 80,000 residents were forced to evacuate from the exclusion zone around the plant and have been told that it could be decades before they can return.

The decision to reactivate the nuclear industry comes as the government is already facing intense opposition to its plans to increase the country’s deeply unpopular sales tax. The Fukushima disaster was a major factor in the plummeting support for the previous prime minister Naota Kan and Yoshihiko Noda cannot escape the wrath of people as well as nuclear disasters.

The capitalist classes, oriented exclusively on extra profits, mint money at the cost of people and nuclear projects make them richer in many times.

Observations

For more than two decades now, diplomats have struggled to slow global warming and save the earth and humanity from disasters. They keep talking without results. They have negotiated two major treaties to achieve that goal, the 1992 UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the 1997 Kyoto Protocol. And last year, at the UN Climate Change Conference in Durban, South Africa, they agreed to start talking about yet another treaty. A small group of countries, including Japan and the members of the European Union, now regulate their emissions in accord with the existing agreements. But most states, including the largest emitters of greenhouse gases, China, India, Brazil and the USA, have failed to make much progress. As a result, total emissions of carbon dioxide, the leading long-term cause of global warming, have risen by more than 50 percent since the 1980s and are poised to rise by more than 30 percent in the next two to three decades.

Nuclear waste and nuke disasters can unleash devastating losses to humanity.

Nuclear terror power, the nuclear bosses and agents, is like a money tree "around here". They are no different from NATO terror gangs killing innocent people in occupied Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan and Libya.

Like NATO imperialist powers that operate to promote capitalism and colonialism, the nuclear lobbyists also promote the same.

Indian corporate gang is eagerly waiting to terrorize Indians, especially in Kudankulam of Tamil State, and terrorize them.

They all, dressed up like gentlemen, in fact want to drink human blood.
