THE reason why a mother of four children in Rivers State, Southern Nigeria, allegedly killed her lover-boy pastor, has started to filter into the open.
However, the police in the state, it was gathered on Monday, are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a lover-boy pastor which took place some two weeks ago.
Sources told AkanimoReports that the woman sought a ''love-portion'', believing that it will help her to induce the late pastor to financially help her cushion the burden of catering for her four children.
It was also gathered that initially, the pastor refused to drink the substance which was in a cup. Apparently confused, she ran to the provider of the killer substance to seek counsel.
It is being alleged that it was the female diviner who advised her to entice the pastor sexually to drink of the killer ''love-portion''.
A roving correspondent of AkanimoReports, Effiong Ene, had on a penultimate Monday reported that the village of Rumuche in Emohoa Local Government Area of the state some two Sundays ago, woke up to a shocking news of the death of Israel Georgewill, a resident prophet with the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, in the community.
An eye-witness said the deceased was the only child of his living mother. He was the founder of the church in the community which has been in existence for barely three years now.
Until his death, he was alleged to be in a robust love relationship with a woman popularly known as Onyema, a divorcee and a mother of four.
The mother of four, according to an elderly woman who did not want her name in print, procured some substances said to be ''love portion'' that will enable her have the deceased under her control alone.
But the ''love portion'' resulted in the death of the prophet on Saturday night after several bouts of sex.
When the prophet allegedly passed on, the lover-mother of four took to her heels. But a vigilant community youth who saw the speed with which she took-off, sneaked to the scene, only to behold a lifeless body of the prophet.
Shocked, the community youth raised an alarm which attracted elders of the area. A hot chase for the run-away lover-woman, found her at the home of a female diviner who allegedly gave her the killer love portion.
A swift intervention from the police in the area, and re-inforcement from the Swift Operation Squad (SOS), a special security outfit saved the Ikwerre community from being engulfed in violent clashes.
The house of the female diviner was razed down by angry youths who were protesting the death of the young prophet. ENDS
