Who will buy a face cream which costs £8,440 for a single 50-gramme jar

Priced at nearly £169 per gramme, this new face cream created by Japan is reportedly more expensive than gold because gold sells at £33 per gramme – this face cream can easily lay claim to be the most expensive cream ever.

This has been reported in The Telegraph of dated 18th of June 2012.

Shiseido Co has planned to release "La Creme" in the market on September 21 which would coincide with the 30th anniversary of its most luxurious beauty product line, "Cle de Peau Beaute."

There would be only three jars of this cream with each container being hand crafted and made up of 30-layers of crystals in three platinum rungs.

The well-known French cosmetics firm Crystal Saint-Louis who are specialist glassmakers would be making the exquisite jars.

Their designs are always sought after in the market.

The company Shiseido has confirmed that orders would be accepted from 30th of August 2012 in its main branch in the Ginza district in Tokyo and, in case there are more than three requests, then thee would be a draw to select the winners.
