Man accused of burglary and carjacking and pleads guilty

A Kennedy Township, Pa man, 29 year old Joseph Manna was accused of a 2011 burglary and carjacking. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced by the Allegheny County Court.

All together he was accused of 30 criminal charges for his crime that was commited January 15, 2011.

According to Allegheny County, Pa, District Attorney Stephen A Zappala's spokesman, Mike Manko said Manna was sentenced 6-12 years in prison.

His charges are burglary, theft of a motor vehicle and robbery of a motor vehicle and theft by unlawful taking in one count each. But there was two counts of recklessly endangering another person.

The story of this crime unfolds as Manna broke into an apartment in Stowe Township PA, and stabbed a man and woman, then then, without asking, took the truck of the male victim's father.

Manko said it was found out he stabbed the man and woman so there would be no witness that he stole a computer from them the day before he stabbed them.

Manna got into the truck and drove himself to Moon Township were he stopped a lady at 6:40 am on Purdy road claiming he was injured and asked her to call police. Then he suddenly pulled her out of the car and drove away in her car. The car was found abandoned in Morgantown West Virginia. Manna was in a homeless shelter located near the abandoned car.
