As many as 30 people were injured when a woman drove her car through an Ohio town square during a community event.
The chaotic scene unfolded on Friday night in Lima, where more than 1,000 people had gathered for a weekly community event featuring live music.
No one was killed in the unexplained Friday night incident in Lima, but several people suffered serious injuries and were hospitalized, the Lima News reported.Some of whom were pinned under the car and freed when bystanders lifted it, authorities and witnesses said.
The driver, who reportedly had a dog with her, was parked near the town's main square when she accelerated rapidly, a police spokesman told NBC News.
Police are continuing their investigation into what caused a 63-year-old woman to drive her car into a crowded square in Lima, Ohio last night, striking bystanders and sending some through the air .
