David Toms is the winner of the 2001 PGA Championship, was able to shake off his two bogeys, made at the difficult first and sixth to stay steady. “I just hung in there,” Toms said.
Tiger Woods had been steady so far at the Lake Course, he bogeyed at 5, 6 and 7, once lead in the leaderboard for a while and took him from the lead to 1 over. Then Tiger hit a 5-iron to stay at the par-3 eighth, then ables to put a 25-footer at the 10th. There should be someone to chase the Tiger in Saturday action at Lake Course in the US Open. Could it be the 17-year old Hossler?
