After England were punished from a set piece headed goal to give Sweden a come from behind 2-1 lead, the irrepressible Zlatan Ibrahimovic lambasted the English goal-keeper. The tone of the Swede's in that moment of triumph was definitely a challenge for the young Joe Hart. From that point on, the goalie came out stronger for each high ball and made a world-class save from a thunderous long-range effort from Zlatan to keep the sides level. Theo Walcott came on for James Milner and was the catalyst for the English fight-back as he scored from a well-taken shot and set up Danny Welbeck's improvisational backheeled goal with a burst of pace and cross.
Roy Hodgson's decision to start with two up front had given the English a 1-0 half-time lead as Andy Carroll powered home a header from another Steven Gerrard exquisite cross. The game was highly competitive and the result ends Sweden's hopes of advancing out of the group stages while England required a win or a draw versus co-hosts Ukraine to advance.
