Update: Chairman of Google.com First visit to meet CM Pakistan

Chief Minister met with the Chairman of Google, Mr. Eric Schmidt a few moments earlier. The Chief Minister informed the Chairman about various initiatives the Punjab Government has taken in the field of Information Technology including distribution of laptops and the IT labs project. Mr. Schmidt was impressed by the infrastructure of Lahore and stated that Pakistan is very different from the perception it has abroad. Punjab Government has already signed an MOU with google for promotion of its tourist destinations. Collaboration in other areas such as law & order, security, education and e-governance, was also discussed in this meeting. Another MOU between Punjab Government and Google will be signed very soon, this was the Chairman's first visit to Pakistan.
