According to a press release on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, 1:22 a.m.
Medical Center of Central Georgia personnel notified MPD of a person with a gunshot wound. Upon arrival at the hospital officers made contact with the 18 year-old victim. He apprised the officers that he was walking behind a store on the Wilshire Woods property when two unknown black males wearing masks demanded money.
He described the men as follows:
1. Tall and skinny, approximately 6’2″ armed with a hand gun
2. Short, approximately 5’8″
Although the victim told the men he didn’t have any money, the short man rifled through his pockets while the tall armed man shot him in the right leg. The suspects fled in different directions.
The victim did not call police, nor did he want anyone else to call. A friend of the victim drove him to the hospital for medical care. The injury is non-life-threatening.
