CURLS, the premium hair care company specializing in naturally curly hair, will sponsor the Glam Slam Hair Show Battle. The event is scheduled to take place at the Juneteenth Celebration at the 9th annual Texas Black Expo. It will be held from June 14-17, 2012, at the George R. Brown Convention Center. The event is expected to draw some 20,000 attendees, making it the largest urban festival in Texas.
“We are so happy to be a part of bringing this fun and festive event to the community,” said Mahisha Dellinger, founder and CEO of CURLS. “It is part of our commitment to the consumers who have helped make us a global success over the years. They have been there for us, and we want to be there for them.”
CURLS signature products will be showcased at the Glam Slam Hair Show and in the “I Am Beauty Pavilion” on the tradeshow floor. Last year, the hair show alone drew more
than 2,000 attendees, with thousands visiting the beauty pavilion for free samples, free hairstyling, free makeovers, and more.
Other highly-anticipated events taking place at the annual summer celebration will include an Old School Hip-Hop and R&B Concert, featuring ConFunkShun and Whodini. CURLS joins such sponsors of the event as Lilly, HEB, Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau, Nationwide Insurance, and Comcast among others. Mahisha Dellinger, along with Wendy Raquel Robinson of BET’s The Game, are speakers on the Diva Dialogue Panel at the event.
