And say ye moreover, Behold, thy servant Jacob, is behind us. For he said, I will appease him with the present that goeth before me, and afterward I will see his face; peradventure he will accept of me.

Jacob was thinking the way many of us think now. Give somebody a gift to gain acceptance from that particular person. There's no need to bribe someone for his or her affection. If a person doesn't accept you for who you are, then stop looking for their acceptance.

Numerical Analysis: The numerical pattern for this verse is 5,2,7,3. (5) To stay in God's presence, speak correctly. (2) To follow after God's presence, focus. (7) To be complete, choose to serve. (3) To stay in the Spirit, remain humble.
