Then thou shalt say, They be thy servant Jacob's; it is a present sent unto my lord Esau: and behold, also he is behind us.

-- Gen. 32:18 (KJV)

Over those twenty years, Jacob learned a lot about authority. Instead of usurping his brother's authority when he tricked Esau out of the birthright, Jacob now recognized the authority of his older brother. Always look to serve and to help others so that your own authority will increase.

Numerical Analysis: The numerical pattern for this verse is 5, 9, 3, 2, 1, 8. (5) Follow after God's presence so that He will show you what you need to say in certain situations. (9) To overturn evil, be willing to serve. (3) To stay in the Spirit, give. (2) To be delivered, focus. (1) To stay in the anointing, remain humble. (8) To have a new beginning in God, remain humble.
