This is disgusting. Sometimes I wonder if the human being should really be consider as an intelligent creature. In Italy there apparently is a "sport" to have street races with horses - make horses gallop down asphalted roads with motorcycles circling around them to stress them to go faster. As the horse gets tired the jockey starts to whip the horse with a stick. How can you even consider this a sport? You can see the stress in the horses eyes and on the brown horse you almost see the legs falling beneath it towards the end. Having had horses myself, I was really stunned by it.

Sigh. Sometimes I wish we would have come further as a society. I see nothing else than animal cruelty here.

ITALY THE MOST DISGUSTING COUNTRY TO KEEP HORSES. THEY EAT HORSES. THEY ABUSE THEM. THEY HAVE NO CULTURE FOR CARING FOR HORSES OR ANY OTHER ANIMALS. THEY HAVE NO LEGAL PROTECTION FOR ANIMALS. THEY THINK IT IS THEIR POSSESSION AND THEIRS TO ABUSE AND INFLICT PAIN AND MISERY.
THERE IS NO BODY TO PROTECT THEM AT ALL.
ITALY IS A CRUEL COUNTRY. IT HAS TO BE EX-PAT PEOPLE WHO HELP THE ANIMALS HERE.
WITH A CRETIN OF A PRIME MINISTER SUCH AS BERLUSCONI WHO TELLS EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS TO IMAGE THEY ARE OUT CAMPING. WHAT HOPE IS THERE FOR THIS IGNORANT RACE OF PEOPLE?
THEY DO NOT REALISE THAT HORSES CAN BE CREMATED AND HAVE A PEACEFUL ENDING. THEY THINK THEY MUST BE EATEN AND THAT INCLUDES IGNORANT HORSE OWNERS.
