REFUGEE KIDS: ONE SMALL SCHOOL TAKES ON THE WORLD, an hour-long documentary about the school for refugee kids in New York City has just entered the second week of an intense kickstarter campaign. The film tells the powerful stories of children from global hot spots - Egypt, Iraq, Tibet, West Africa, Bhutan and Burma - who with the help of the International Rescue Committee, resettle in the U.S.

The film documents kids who grew up in refugee camps or whose close family members were killed, others who endured long separations from their parents. Yet most somehow manage to come here and thrive, with the help of visionary educators and a supportive community.

The rough cut of the film has been garnering Oscar Short buzz and is in the final push of raising funds for completion More about the film is at their kickstarter page: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1391393314/refugee-kids-one-small-school-takes-on-the-world With crowdfunding, even a $5 campaign is awesome. Check it out and pass it on.
