
Rafael Nadal beat the Serbian Novak Djokovic in the rain-delayed French Open 2012 final on Monday 6-4, 6-3, 2-6, 7-5. By this win Spain’s Nadal breaks the record of tennis legend Bjorn Borg as the maximum record holder for French Open titles. “For me the comparison to the great Borg is a great honor,” Nadal told John McEnroe after winning the title.
Nadal was seen in teary eyes after winning the high voltage match. Nadal ended Djokovic’s hopes of becoming the third man to win four Grand Slams consecutively. “This tournament is probably the most special in the world and having this trophy with me I am really emotional. It is probably one of the most special moments in my career,” the Reuters quoted Nadal as saying after winning the title.
