For the past 65 years the Broadway Theatre has been honouring the best in Broadway and Off-Broadway productions. The 2012 edition of the Tony Awards were held at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.
It was a night of musical performances, star presentations, and first time winners.
The 66th annual Tony Awards opens with a musical production from the award winning musical “The Book of Mormon” that ends with the introduction of hostwho returns for his third appearance as host.

The first award of the night was for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play and the Tony went tofor “Other Desert Cities”. It was her first Tony Award.
After a performance from cast members of the Tony nominated musical “Newsies”, and more comedy from Harris…Michael McGrath won the award for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical for his role in “Nice Work if You Can get It”.
