Maria Sharapova wins 2012 French Open title

Tennis glamour queen 25-year-old Maria Sharapova won French Open 2012 title by beating Sara Errani in straight sets 6-3, 6-2. “The match you gave me today was extremely difficult,” Sharapova told Errani after the victory. By winning the 2012 French Open final Sharapova also enlisted her name in the legendary career Grand Slam league.

Sharapova won four games in a row within the first 15 minutes. After that 25-year-old Italian Errani tried to fight back but the Russian’s power play was almost indestructible towards the end of the game. Sharapova was seen shedding tears after winning the final match. Former tennis star Monica Seles handed over her the winning trophy.
