Sharapova Wins 2012 French Open

Maria Sharapova v Errani - Roland Garros - 2012 - Live - Final 8th June - Streaming

Maria Sharapova has just defeated upset-minded Sara Errani 6-3, 6-2 to win the French Open. Sharapova became the tenth woman in women's tennis history to win a career Grand Slam.

On the center court of Roland Garros, Sharapova made it look easy today against Errani, who made an improbable run in this year's French Open. Although Errani lost in today's finals, she won the women's doubles title with Roberta Vinci.

For Sharapova, the French Open was the hardest Grand Slam event to secure. She recently returned from shoulder surgery and a grueling rehab in order to be victorious today. Her hard work paid off because playing on clay is the toughest out of all tennis surfaces.
