William and Kate chill out watching 'The Avengers' in Kensington theatre

Must say, the young royal couple never ceases to surprise. Just the other night the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were spotted at the Odeon on Kensington High Street.

Prince William and Kate had gone to watch Marvel’s Avengers Assemble just like any ordinary folk. While the duo showed they were quite happy to join in with ordinary punters there, they ended up shocking quite a lot of people around them by joining in a queue.

One lady cinemagoer was so thrilled on seeing the royal couple, she tweeted: "OMG watching the Avengers with Kate Middleton and Prince William sitting right next to me!!!!!"

William and Kate were almost unrecognizable trying to be as unobtrusive as possible at the local theatre. The second in line to the royal throne was seen wearing a simple shirt, blue jumper, a baseball cap and glasses.

Even the usually glamorous Duchess Kate was dressed down for the occasion, wearing a pair of blue skinny jeans and a denim jacket and high heels. Cinema goers saw the down-to-earth couple tucking into some pic’n’mix before the screening at around 9 pm June 07, night.

No matter how much William and Kate tried to melt into the crowds, there was no escape for them from being stared wherever they went. But they did not seem to be bothered by all the attention even at the cinema house.

The duo were obviously taking a break after four days of hectic schedules surrounding the celebrations of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, including participating in the Royal flotilla over River Thames and attending a live star-studded concert outside Buckingham Palace.

A spokesman for Prince William and Kate did not make any comment on whether the royal couple had spent the night at the cinema. After the movie, Prince William and Prince Harry visited their grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh at King Edward VII Hospital in central London.

Prince Philip has been admitted there due to a urinary bladder infection. Meanwhile, as per the latest news the senior Prince has been discharged from the hospital just in time for his 91st birthday. Hopefully he will be by the Queen’s side at her Norfolk retreat, for a private celebration.
