The news that the Spanish government is debating today whether to request a bailout and despite Spain having the highest unemployment figure in the European Union.
Villagers in Caceres Western Spain :-Guijo de Galisteo, El batan & Valrio voted in a referendum on whether council funds should be spent on bullfights or employment.
Two of the three small villages in the referendum in the Guijo de Galisteao governance decided to allocate money to three summer bullfights instead of casual labour.
The vote was not unaminous. 181 votes were for some 30,000 euros be spent on employment whilst 242 votes were for bullfights.
In Guijo de Galisteo itself 115 residents want the money spent on employment with only 40 preferring the money to be spent on bullfights. As a result their 15,000 euros share of the allocation will go towards funding for work.
Meanwhile the banking crisis in Spain continues in ever increasing intensity.
