A teaching assistant mother was shot to death Friday morning, along with a male partner; victim’s 23-year-old son ends up arrested on suspicion of killing the pair. Clare Sly and her partner introduced as ‘Decker,’ were gunned down at a Laneside Gardens, Walsall area house.
According to the details, the 38-year-old woman living at Laneside Gardens (Birchills) number 9 in West Midlands was killed by her own son named Anthony Vassell. Clare and her male partner, 43, were attacked inside the house, informed the neighbours who claimed they heard loud screams before the gunshots were fired.
Shortly after the shooting, an ambulance would be seen at the house and after desperate yet unsuccessful attempts to resuscitate the pair, the crew called police at around 1:37 a.m. However, both the victims were pronounced dead at the scene; succumbing to their respective injuries.

The 22-year-old is being held on suspicion of murdering the pair in the early Friday morning hours. Meanwhile, police also swooped to arrest a young woman (also 22), whom the detectives were questioning.
Forensic teams were engaged in combing the cul-de-sac at the house till late hours, for the purpose of collecting any clue(s). Working at a Walsall area school as a teaching assistant, Clare was described as a ‘decent’ and ‘hardworking’ lady whose tragic death leaves the community in shock.
