Kurt Thomas Busch renowned American NASCAR and NHRA driver is under media limelight after getting suspended. Kurt Busch who drives the No. 51 TAG Heuer/Phoenix Construction Chevrolet Impala for Phoenix Racing in the Sprint Cup Series and drives the No. 1 Phoenix Construction Chevrolet Impala for Phoenix and the No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota Camry for Kyle Busch Motorsports in the Nationwide Series is in jeopardy after NASCAR suspended him on Monday until June 13.
Apparently Kurt Busch has been profane during the last weekend's nationwide race at Dover. He was upset with Justin Allgaier after a close call during the race. After the race, Bob Pockrass, a reporter with the Sporting News, asked Busch if being on probation made an impact during the Nationwide Series race. Busch replied "It refrains me from beating the shit out of you right now because you ask me stupid questions. But since I'm on probation, I suppose that's improper to say as well."
Busch has already been associated with numerous controversies and allegations. He was on probation for his actions during and after last month's Southern 500, from competing in any NASCAR-sanctioned event in the next week. Chances are Kurt is also likely to miss Sunday's Sprint Cup race at Pocono.
Busch has been subjected to a lot of criticism for his temper tantrums. He has been warned to control himself at numerous instances prior to this incident but it seems he hasn’t been taking those warnings too seriously.
Busch issued a statement after his suspension was announced, that says: "I accept NASCAR's decision. I put them in a box, they had to take action and it's my fault for putting them in this position. I apologize for the comments I made to (Sporting News reporter) Bob Pockrass."
According to Sports Illustrated SPEED analyst Larry McReynolds said "He alone is holding his career in the palm of his hands and he's absolutely throwing it away," SPEED analyst Larry McReynolds said. "It makes me want to shake him and say, 'Kurt, please take a look at what you're doing.'"
In response to immense criticism that he has been receiving for being so vocal he says "To me, I've been up and down," "A guy that I always looked up to, Mark Martin, he said, 'Draw a line and try to stay in the middle.' It's funny how times where I get excited and drag myself back into a hole. I've got to work my way out of this but it's going to be fun because I don't shy from challenges."
