
Israeli F-16 warplanes carried out new air strikes in the Gaza Strip early Monday, targeting and destroying a milk factory in Gaza City with at least one missile. One Palestinian was injured in the attack.
The other strikes targeted agricultural land with no injuries reported.
Furthermore, the army fired shells into open areas near Ar-Rayyes Mountain, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.There were no physical injuries or damage.
Israel's army said it had "targeted a weapon manufacturing facility and a terror tunnel in the northern Gaza Strip," in response to a Qassam rocket fired from northern Gaza exploded on the outskirts of Sderot at noon on Monday. No injuries were reported, a statement said.
Israeli prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that Israel will continue air strikes against Gaza “as long as necessary."
On Saturday night, Israeli warplanes fired two missiles on agricultural lands near the vicinity of Al-Feki family's house in Nuseirat camp, and injuring seven citizens, including four children and an infant whose wounds were described as moderate.
Meanwhile, Ismail Radwan, a Hamas leader said Hamas holds Israeli army fully responsible for the recent escalation, stressing on the resistance's right to defend itself against this new escalation.
"Israel is trying to incite against the Gaza Strip, by issuing statements claiming that the resistance has sophisticated weapons to justify attacking it," he added.
Violence between Israel and Gaza militants erupted on Friday when a Palestinian fighter had breached the southern Gaza border and opened fire on Israeli soldiers, who returned fire. An Israeli soldier from Golani Brigade and the Palestinian were killed.
Last week, Israeli Ynet news reported that two Israeli soldiers of the Golani Brigade were wounded during a gun battle with Palestinian fighters near Kissufim Israeli military base in Central Gaza.
