Skooter reporting 06/04/12

This week I’m going to show you around the best beaches of the Philippines. The first beach that I’m going to show you is no other else but my home province Cebu, an island in the Pacific as it is popularly known in almost all travel magazines.

Mactan Island, yeah the historical island where the Portuguese explorer and circumnavigator Ferdinand Magellan was killed by Rajah Lapu-lapu, the native chieftain of the island. This banana-shaped island is exceedingly accessible, with international flights from many Asian centers flying right into Cebu Province. Near the Mactan-Cebu International Airport are a variety of high-end, family-oriented resorts such as Shangri-La's Mactan Resort and Spa., Hilton Hotel, Plantation Bay Resort, Blue Waters, Imperial House, etc. Or travel three hours by car to the northern tip of Cebu , where pump boats (motorized boats) make the 10-minute trip to dreamy Malapascua Island (pictured), home to the blinding-white Bounty Beach.

Tomorrow my good friends, we will visit to a neighboring province of Negros Oriental. Don’t miss it.
