Arrest Made in Memorial Day Killing Of Candice Rice

The Macon Police Department announced that 29 year-old Bobby Lee Fordham, Jr., sought for questioning in the murder of 29-year-old Candice Rice, was located on Friday, June 1, 2012 in Alabama by the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force. Ms. Rice’s vehicle, a Kia Spectra, also was recovered.

Candice Rice was found dead in her home at 4073 Lafayette Drive on Monday, May 28, 2012. Bobby Lee Fordham, Jr. was transported back to Macon to the Bibb LEC and was charged with Felony Murder and Theft by Conversion – Felony.

According to Major Charles Stone, “Our guys work these cases around the clock until they’re solved. We had two murders on Memorial Day, and by Friday we had an arrest in both. Our investigators and officers pulled together on a holiday and since then to make the arrests. I also applaud the efforts of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force. They do a heck of a job tracking down fugitives and locking them up.”
