Diamond Jubilee celebrations being held for Queen Elizabeth II in Britain

Queen Elizabeth II is celebrating sixty years of her reign with a number of festive events all over the country. She has been in power for six decades. She is the second longest ruling queen, after Queen Victoria, in the history of Britain.

The queen's Diamond Jubilee is being celebrated with great enthusiasm with everybody from the common man to the prime minister paying their tributes. “For 60 years, the queen has been a point of light in our national life; brilliant, enduring and resilient. Through a reign of unparalleled change — from post-war Britain through to the jet age, space age and digital age — she has remained resolutely unchanged in her commitment to this country.” Prime Minister David Cameron stated in a tribute in the Parliament’s The House magazine, as reported on NYDailyNews.com.

The Queen is known for her pleasant personality and active role, even now when she is 86 years old. She actively participates in official ceremonies and is immensely popular in the public. People in the country feel that she has been playing her role well as the head of the monarchy. She has seen the changes in the country as well as in the whole world over the decades and has a rich experience as a leader.

Security arrangements have been made in great detail to avoid any mishap during the days of celebration. There are various official events and celebratory parties planned throughout the country.
