The Cairo Criminal Court headed by Judge Ahmed Refaat sentenced today Saturday June 2 to life imprisonment the former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, and his former Interior Minister Habib al Adli after finding them guilty of the deaths of more than 800 demonstrators during the revolution in January and February 2011 in Tahrir Square that led Mubarak resigned in February 2011 Reuters reported

Judge Ahmed Refaat began the session with a speech describe 30-year of Mubarak's rule as a "dark age" and the "Revolution of January 25" as new "dawn" of a new era However the court acquitted of Alaa and Gamal, Mubarak's sons accused of corruption, and six former police commanders are Al Adli Hassan Abd El Rahman (former deputy interior minister and former head of State Security), Adli Fayed (former Deputy Minister of Interior and former head of General Security), Ahmed Ramzy ( former head of the Central Security Forces) and Ismail al Shaer (former Director of Security for Cairo). The other two are former ministry officials and Omar Osama al Marassy Faramawy. those who considered the core of the Interior Ministry during Mubarak era
