Nepal's Supreme Court Justice Rana Bahadur Bam was killed as two unidentified gunmen shot dead on Thursday.
The two men riding on a motorcycle stop stopped the car of Bam and shot him several times through the window. He was immediately rused to Norvic Hospital in a critical condition due to the shots in his head. His bodyguard has been injured but nothing happened to his driver, who is being held by the police for questioning.
Bam, 61, was a controversial judge against whom the process of impeachment was underway for his "inability to fulfill his responsibilities" but no such proposal had been registered in the now defunct parliament. A pamphlet of an unheard of Nepalbad Party was found at the scene of the crime. The pamphlet said that this action was taken against corruption in the judiciary.
