This week on “Duets” the eight singers will perform one more time with their superstars before a singer is eliminated next week in an a cappella battle.

This week the singers perform some of the most iconic duets in music history.

The superstars open the show as Kelly Clarkson and Robin Thicke perform a duet of their own while Jennifer Nettles and John Legend looked – and clapped – on.

After last week the eight singers ranked…

J Rome

Johnny Gray

Alexis Foster

John Glosson

Olivia Chisholm

Bridget Carrington

Jordan Meredith

Jason Faro

The competition this week begins with John Legend and Bridget Carrington performing the Grammy Award winning hit by Aretha Franklin and George Michael - “I Knew You Were Waiting”. Jennifer loved it and thought the performance was fantastic; adding that the song fit Bridget’s voice. Kelly noted the runs Bridget performed calling it fantastic; adding that they nailed it. Robin thought Bridget and John had a beautiful chemistry together; adding Bridget had an amazing finish.

Kelly Clarkson and Jordan Meredith performed “Misery” by Pink and Steven Tyler. Jennifer was happy with the song choice saying it showed off Jordan’s voice well. Robin agreed that it was a perfect song choice for Jordan’s voice; but although John loved the tone in Jordan’s voice, he was a bit concerned over the pitch at times.

Jennifer Nettles chose the classic hit “Ain’t no Mountain High Enough” performed by Marvin Gaye and Michael McDonald. Kelly loed that John had a gret time performing the song; adding that she thinks John will go far in the competition. Robin said John had an amazing voice but thought it was the wrong song choice; but agreed that John will go far. John called John one of the best in the competition but felt the performance was a little Broadway.

Robin Thicke chose the two time Grammy Award winning song “Where is the Love “by Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway for his duet with Olivia Chisholm. John loved Olivia’s stage presence and the chemistry with Robin. Jennifer said it was a great performance but a bit pitchy. Delly said that Olivia has a cool texture to her voice, a sound like no other.

Host Quddus announced that due to “unforeseen circumstances” Johnny Gray was out of the competition and John Legend had to find a replacement on very short notice. After holding a rapid fire open call, John settled on two singers. He gave Mario and Meleana a song to learn and 24 hours to learn it; at which time he would choose a singer and they would perform the song the following day on the show. John, playing piano, and Meleana performed the Diana Ross hit “Endless Love”. The pair received a standing ovation for their performance. Robin compared the performance to a perfect sandwich; adding that they sounded beautiful together. Kelly said Meleana did a great job and Jennifer called Meleana super classy; adding she had a uniqueness to her voice. With less than three days to prepare for the competition, Meleana found herself at the top of the leader board.

Kelly and Jason Farol performed “Whenever I Call” by Mariah Carey. John said the performance was good but felt Jason didn’t own it. Robin noted that Jason approved over last week and Jennifer agreed; adding she saw a few pitch issues.

Jennifer and last week’s leader J Rome sang the most popular karaoke duet song – “You’re the One that I Want” from the hit musical “Grease” by Olivia Newton John and John Travolta. Kelly compared J Rome to Bruno Mars; adding that he had swag and made it cool. John said J Rome looked natural on stage, was polished, and looked like a pro but felt the song didn’t showcase his voice. Robin gave J Rome a 10 for his presence and pelvic moves; adding that J Rome had a great chance to win. Last week’s leader remained atop the leader board tying with Meleana.

The final performance of the night was from Robin and Alexis Foster who performed the classic hit song “You’re All I Need to Get By” from Marvin Gaye and Tammy Terrell. Robin played the piano while they sang. Jennifer called it a wonderful performance. John cautioned Alexis on how to hold the mic so she could be heard. Kelly felt the performance was disconnected.

Week 2 rankings…

Meleana Brown and

J Rome tie

Bridget Carrington

John Glosson

Jordan Meredith

Alexis Foster

I'm glad that you are doing a review of the show because I will not watch.
Sugarland does not appeal to me at all.

I'll admit that I am not a big fan of any of the stars, but I love music and have an open mind. Getting familiar with Robin Thicke, he has a good voice.
