Sheriff pinches a Dubai woman’s bottom and faces jail of upto 15-years

It is a serious crime for any man to take liberties with a woman in Dubai and pinching a woman’s bottom is one such heinous crime - the person who does that can expect to be thrown into a prison as reported in mailonline dated 31st of May 2012.

43-years old Belfast born businessman Steven Sherriff had been drinking in a bar with a 23-year old redhead when her boyfriend punched him.

She had complained to her boyfriend that someone had squeezed her bottom and tried to take liberties with her and accused Steven Sheriff.

However, when the young man realized that his girlfriend had pointed at the wrong person, the man apologized and both the men made up.

But – not so the police, they charged Sheriff with being drunk and also with sexual assault – that offence is punishable by up to six months in jail and a fine of up to £340.

The sexual assault carries with it a prison sentence of 3 to 15-years.

Steven Sheriff is a British expat who had been living in Dubai for the last 7-years – in case he is convicted, he would be deported on completion of his sentence.
