Before there was Team Edward or Team Jacob for Twilight's Bella, or Team Stefan or Team Damon for The Vampire Diaries' Elena, there was Team Blaine or Team Ducky for Andie in Pretty in Pink.
Directed by the late John Hughes, the 1986 classic continued to cemented Molly Ringwald's status as America's teen sweetheart in the role of Andie, the poor girl from the wrong side of the tracks who finds her Prince Charming with handsome and wealthy Blaine, played by fellow Brat Packer heartthrob Andrew McCarthy.
Their romance, though, was not only threatened by due to class differences, but also the jealously of Andie's BFF Ducky (Jon Cryer), who's in love with Andie, whose portrayer Ringwald thought he was gay, according to a recent interview with Out.com.
Ringwald will be experiencing a similar situation -- on the small screen, that is, when her character comes out in the new season of ABC Family's The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
However, in his interview with Zap2it, Cryer objected: stating that "slightly effeminate dorks" like Ducky are indeed straight. He currently stars as Alan Harper on the top-rated CBS sitcom, Two and a Half Men, which was renewed for a tenth season.
