Cleveland Ohio. Cleveland Indians designated hitter Travis Hafner will have knee surgery on his right knee on Thursday and will be out of the lineup from four to six weeks according to Indians trainer Lonnie Soloff.

Soloff said Hafner will have athroscopic surgery to repair frying and irritation on his right meniscus at the Cleveland Clinic.

The Indians have placed Hafner on the 15 day disabled on Wednesday. Hafner has played since May 23.

The Indians have called up left handed pitcher Scott Barnes from their AAA minor league team in Colombus Ohio to replace Hafner on the roster. Barnes will used by the Indians as a relief pitcher.
